Please post any comments or suggestions about this topic here.
Concept: Instead of finding ore/minerals spread throughout the land, they should all be condensed into dense pockets for mines.
All ore/minerals should drop the ore block as if using Silk Touch.
All ore blocks should have a max stackability of 1.
In addition, we need an easy way to adjust nearly all variables including: biome, density, number range of each ore/mineral in a vein, frequency of veins.
If anyone has any suggestions, or ideas about any of these items, or things we should add.
If no one has anything else to add, I'll move it to the 'Items to be coded.'

The blocks within 10-block radius will be affected by gravity i think is not feasible.
What about: Ores are harder to break And ores spawn not just in a vein but in multiple veins next to each other to form a line or a curve

Why isn't 10 block radius feasible? In the physics mod, ALL blocks are affected by gravity.
Also, let me see if I can find that 'realistic ores' mod. I want something like that. They were very realistic, and very customization.

Also, is the physics something that we even really want to do? The only reason to have it is to force the players to build mine shafts, and I'm not 100% that we want to force the players to do that if they don't want.

That was one of the initial ideas, but then players can't build with Stone, and I really don't want to restrict the players' building. I'm beginning to think we should just leave out the physics part. It will still be mine-like, since they'll need minecarts and rails for all the ore, since it won't stack.

I agree about the gravity part And the idea about veins spawning next to eachother sounds really cool to me. Maybe even on differend hights? and possible close to resources its supposed to spawn next to. (so you could find a node in a desert and could find something you find in deserts irl)

Yes, the resources spawning in the appropriate places will be in the mod, but that won't come till Phase 2, which focuses on WorldGen, and tech trees.

Ok, I'm moving this to Currently working, so programmers, feel free to start working on the prototype for this.
Note that it will still be up for brainstorming, it's just that we have enough details now to start the programming, and work from there.
